The King's Highway !

Once upon a time, a king had a great highway built for the people who lived in his kingdom. After it was completed, but before it was opened to the public, the king decided to have a contest. He invited as many of his subjects as desired to participate. The challenge was to see who could travel the highway the best, and the winner was to receive a box of gold.

On the day of the contest, all the people came. Some of them had fine chariots; some had fine clothing and fancy food to make the trip a luxurious journey. Some wore their sturdiest shoes and ran along the highway on their feet to show their skill. All day they travelled the highway, and each one, when he arrived at the end, complained to the king about a large pile of rocks and debris that had been left almost blocking the road at one point, and that got in their way and hindered their travel.

At the end of the day, a lone traveler crossed the finish line warily and walked over to the king. He was tired and dirty, but he addressed the king with great respect and handed him a small chest of gold. He said, "I stopped along the way to clear a pile of rocks and debris that was blocking the road. This chest of gold was under it all. Please have it returned to its rightful owner."

The king replied, "You are the rightful owner." "Oh no," said the traveler, "This is not mine. I've never known such money."

"Oh yes," said the king, "you've earned this gold, for you won my contest. He who travels the road best is he who makes the road better for those who will follow."

Remember those words of wisdom as you travel the road of life! Make the road of your life such that the people following the same road will find it better for their own lives' journeys...

Simple Everyday Thoughts !

You simply have to put one foot in front of the other and keep going. Put blinders on and plow right ahead. One must work and dare if one really wants to live. ~Vincent Van Gogh The fishermen know that the sea is dangerous and the storm terrible, but they have never found these dangers sufficient reason for remaining ashore. If you hear a voice within you say "you cannot paint," then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced. Great things are done by a series of small things brought together. Even the knowledge of my own fallibility cannot keep me from making mistakes. Only when I fall do I get up again. Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail. The reward of a thing well done is having done it. An ounce of action is worth a ton of theory. I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. I've failed over...

"If the Human Body is Obscene, Complain to the manufacturer, Not Me." ~Larry Flynt Long back while watching Discovery Channel. In a Program, I heard them say: "Our Body is Dynamic. Changes every day. (2) Her Smile is good. etc. IS IT FOR ALL? ...ALWAYS?? I'm trying to say that - Its All in the Eyes ! A person lying naked on the bed... can be anyone from a child to someone selling body for money. And EYES can be anything from Saintly Ignorant to Gyenocologist at Work to a Ponce to Sharp Shooter to Fighter Pilot to a Mother [[who feels - and not just See It !]] Some Child [[unable to See beyond some feet !]] to a Blind [[who still can see - WITHOUT EYES !]]... Or may be YOUR OWN EYES ! Well this Human Body as we SEE is not the same for long. Beautiful today, can be Granny tom...

Count Thy Blessings !

I've never made a fortune, and it's probably too late now. But I don't worry about that much, I'm happy anyhow. And as I go along life's way, I'm reaping better than I sowed. I'm drinking from my saucer, 'Cause my cup has overflowed. Haven't got a lot of riches, and sometimes the going's tough. But I've got loving ones all around me, and that makes me rich enough. I thank God for his blessings, and the mercies He's bestowed. I'm drinking from my saucer, 'Cause my cup has overflowed. I remember times when things went wrong, My faith wore somewhat thin. But all at once the dark clouds broke, and the sun peeped through again. So Lord, help me not to gripe, about the tough rows I have hoed. I'm drinking from my saucer, 'Cause my cup has overflowed. If God gives me strength and courage, When the way grows steep and rough. I'll not ask for other blessings, I'm already blessed enough. And may I never be too busy, to help ...
